My Aunt was the first one who introduced painting to me. She would fly me out to her home every summer for two weeks at a time, where  I would paint and do other artistic activities. In high school I was involved in set design and participated in an academic year internship with local artist, Nancy Lovendhal, to create a one person show that was displayed at the Wyly Community Arts Center. I am currently a junior Neuroscience major at Middlebury College in Vermont.  Inspired my art history courses, I have incorporated various techniques employed by traditional painters. My sophomore year, I received a grant to fund the Middlebury Mountain Club Painting Project where I instructed 1 ½  to 2 hour painting sessions. The project had three purposes 1) to act as a different pathway to engage individuals in the outdoors 2) to address mental health (for the individual) on campus 3) to provide one the opportunity to engage in an activity that can be financially extenuating. The project was a huge success!
